Any ideas what could be wrong? I already took my power supply to a computer store and they tested it out on their computer, and they said the power supply is fine. When I press the power button, nothing happens, no lights, no hd noise or fan noise. 7/26/2006 12:00:49 AM |

If the power supply works you're most likely looking at a bad power switch or a bad motherboard. 7/26/2006 12:04:32 AM |

Hate to ask, but here goes. Have you tried anything else in the outlet you use to plug your computer into 7/26/2006 7:47:05 AM |

if you have a LED indicator on your motherboard and it lights up when you plug in the computer then you mobo is probably fine. If it doesn't then there is definitley a problem in the PSU or mobo.
If you don't have an LED indicator then it's not as easy to diagnose as a mobo problem.
If the power supply fan doesn't spin up at all, then it's probably the power supply. CompUSA tested a PSU I was returning to them cause it didn't work, but they said it was ok. So don't believe always believe what they say. 7/26/2006 5:01:51 PM |
