I had a 2002 IBM Think pad laptop crash/die because of Hard Drive failure and not worth replacing so itss not working...got a new computer but is there anything i could do with my old one..

it's probably not still under warranty is it? if u got it in 2002 and u have a 4 year warranty it might still be covered. the reason i ask cause if it is still under warranty then u could bring it to the bookstore and we could get a new HDD for it.

I have had to send my Thinkpad back to the shop twice becuase i fucked it up, thank God for a warrenty

go to the IBM website, i dont remeber exatly what we did as the guy at the bookstore did it for me, but there was a place where oyu could type your machine type and serial number, and little other information and it should tell you what warrenty you have on it as well as some other stuff too

check IBM's support site i believe you can put in ur serial key and check the warranty info.

Thanks guys just did, and it is underwarranty until august 20 2006
wow who would have known... do I need to bring it to the book store?

yes..if u want, bring it in tomorrow and we can either get a hard drive sent to us from IBM and replace it ourselves or just send it out to IBM for them to fix.

You can, or you can just call IBM's tech support and they will set up a claim for it and send you a laptop box to send it to them in. Either way is painless

8am - 5pm. i strongly suggest u come in b4 12 though because of freshman orientation. it'll be hella busy in the afternoon.

i wont be there till 12 due to class. but u can ask for jacob or jackson and they'll be able to help u just as much.

btw..call IBM tonight and get a case reference number and everythin all ready with them so that u dont have to do that tomorrow. be sure to bring that # with ya.
