You trying to access a shared fold via a crossover cable?
That doesn't even matter and a switch shouldn't help. Create a local user account on the server PC (the one hosting the files) that has the same credentials as you use to log into the client PC (the one you are trying to access said files from). That should allow you to do this without a problem. Odds are your running 2 different OS's and this should fix it. 8/11/2006 7:58:51 AM |

ah, i missed the client part. I assumed you just had two independent computers in close proximity you wanted hooked up to the interenet through one cat-5 jack. a switch will def not help if you're trying to access files on a computer acting as a server, but i didn't get the feeling he was trying to do that from his post. 8/11/2006 8:06:43 AM |

Haha yea I read the topic wrong. It's early man and I saw the word share and then connection password and just fucked up. The local account w/ same credentials could easily solve your problems with the Internet too. 8/11/2006 8:09:53 AM |
