Basically I setup a domain with 1and1.com to use their mysql database and php/asp services to help me do some learning/testing before I have to start working on a project for work. I know that I know very little about everything right now and that is why I chose to pay someone for hosting -- so I wouldn't have to worry with learning how to actually set the servers up, I would only have to deal with the programming aspects. In the actual project at work I'll have to set everything up locally but that doesn't matter right now.
Anyways, so I register a domain with them. I login, go to the "MySQL Administration" page they have setup. Basically from here you can create and delete databases and the users and go to another section called "phpMyAdmin". Here you are suppose to be able to edit/administer the database that was created on the previous page. The problem is I'm getting an error saying:
Quote : | " MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user: 'dbo173448985@172.19.56.163' (Using password: YES) " |
dbo173448985 is the correct username and the hostname on the previous page says "db479.perfora.net", I am assuming 172.19.56.163 is the same but am not sure; regarldess, I know no way of changing this. I've went thru every page on the administration website and there is nothing else that I can find. The only other thing that is odd that I have noticed is in the "storage space" table it shows "not available" under used and available space... I've also went thru all the support pages and FAQ's.. all of them only mention creating the database on the SQL admin page then going thru the phpadmin link to edit the database, nothing else.
Anyways, I know very little about all of the setup because I've never had to do it before thru an outside hosting company. I emailed their tech support 12 hours or so ago and have gotten no response thus far. I've done a little searching on google and see a lot of complaints for 1and1's SQL services and sporatic outages of the phpadmin page and other things...
So, can anybody help me with them? Or, they have a 90 day 100% refund policy, so if anybody has any suggestions on somebody that would be better to host thru that isn't terribly expensive ($10-15 a month preferably. If they offer Exchange server stuff I would be willing to pay more). I just want to get the damn database created so I can start testing some other basic stuff.
Thanks for any help, suggestions, etc.8/7/2006 4:58:22 PM |
