For you EEs out there, does the coursework seem to get easier after 301? I have always heard that after ECE 200 it gets better, but 220 and 301 were just weirder and harder for me than the previous 200 level ECE courses. Any thoughts on this?

the hardest courses you will take are 301302303

That's not what I was hoping to hear. I have 302 and 303 this Fall. How about after that? Is it downhill from there?

^^i agee^that is correct. 402, 406, 407, 305, 492k, and 420 were all significantly easier than 301, 302, and 303 and were on par with 211 as far as difficulty, IMO

so I need to prepare for ass-rapage this semester301, 302, 306, 406

I don't know how you could say classes like 305, 402, and 420 are easier than 3XX. I think ECE just keeps getting harder. The 400 level classes build on the 300s so if you don't do well in them you just get fucked two semesters in a row.[Edited on August 13, 2006 at 10:26 PM. Reason : ^ yeah that is a beast semester]

of course ECE keeps getting harder. it just depends on what you're good at really. for me, 302 sucked because 211 sucked. i hate circuits and microelectronics, but really love math and analysis, so 301, 402, 420, and 422 were a cake walk. to be honest, 220 and 301 are the most fundamental of ECE courses at NCSU. _everything_ builds upon what you learn in those classes. 303 was tough, but thats also because i didn't quite understand how alexander taught. now i'm pretty solid w/ electrodynamics. anyways, here comes ECE 513 and 584. fun times.

ECE doesn't get easier. The 400 level classes build on the basics so the material isn't "easier" - it's just more "familiar." Seeing and working with concepts the second time around simply makes things appear to be "easier."Unless you took ECE 421 with Duel-Hallen last Fall...then that class truely was easy since it was a repeat of ECE 301 with one or two new concepts.

there are better teachers as the classes get higheri found that i enjoyed the more complex classes far more than their lower counterparts and my grades reflected it220 vs. 301emag vs. lasers211 vs. 302 to a lesser extentetc.the reason people think it is easier is that they have a broader freedom in choosing what they'd like to take, so they take things that mesh well with them

i thought 400's were easier than 300's. but then, i got to pick which 400's i took. 301,302,303 were all required.

302 is the hardest ece course and I would venture to guess in the top 10 hardest courses at ncsu.

^truth
8/15/2006 11:06:34 PM
^not the truth. 303 or 301 are harder

^agree to disagree

^^ lies301 with snyder was fun. if you had a heart attack in class, you were safe.

I agree that ECE doesn't get easier. The 400 level classes build on the basics so the material isn't "easier" - it's just more "familiar." Seeing and working with concepts the second time around simply makes things appear to be "easier."I found the Dr. Yu did a great job teaching 302...if you can, take her class. She is organized, prepared and interested in student success. I have heard that both profs for 303 this fall are good.

I should have been an EE.
