Actually, it was 2 years for both the Panthers and the Jags.
The Panthers went 12-4, 1 game away from the superbowl, and they beat the shit out of the Cowboys and the 49ers twice.
I'll never forget watching both Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin get knocked out of the game by that ferocious defense. Deion was stumbling around on the sidelines with a concussion, and Irvin came out of the lockerroom in a damn pimp suit, with his arm in a sling.

the chicago bulls made the playoffs the first two years after they were added as an expansion team in '66-67 and '67-68
also: the miliwaukee bucks made the playoffs in their second season

i don't care that he's ranked around like 30-something on all time wins for coaches. he doesn't get me excited about basketball. he may be a fine GM, but i don't like him as a coach. here's his coaching record over the years.
