So my current bolt is basicly one solid piece, which is cool because its fully automatic but not so cool because the way to begin shooting fully automatic is let the bolt carrier slam forward instead of pulling the trigger.

I would like to just get an entire new bolt assembly. Does anyone have an extra? If not, wheres the best place to purchase one?

Have you tried just spraying Breakfree CLP through the bolt channel?

(I guess if it's rusted, that's no help...)

Albanian SKS bolt assembly @ Gunbroker. As the guy says, do remember to check for proper headspace, but you should be OK.

Yeah this is after taking it apart and cleaning very well, lubricating etc. There must be some sort of mechanical problem...it was sliding somewhat freely and then after I fired a few shots it was stuck pretty solid.

Oh and this is the Yugo 59/66 model if that helps.

Well right...bolts are supposed to be identical between variants, at least mechanically. Sometimes minor differences in finish style.

I take it you haven't been able to punch out the firing pin retainer pin?

i havent tried recently, but when i bought it i took the bolt totally apart, took out the firing pin etc and cleaned lubed everything. then i shot it a few times (a few rounds) and it was stuck.

I think I'm going to send it off to these guys for repair etc

they're going to install a new stainless firing pin, install the spring that helps keep the weapon from slam firing, do some sort of light machining on the exterior (can't remeber the word for it), and do some other thing to help prevent some kind of primer problem. All for $40 including shipping.

Sounds like there was a burr or something in the firing pin channel. Anyway, let me know how that goes; my SKS's bolt is all kinds of FUBAR, but it works fine. The retention pin totally pwned my buddy's punch (the tip of the punch flattened out, lol), and the retention pin didn't even budge.

yeah i hear ya there man, i had a hell of a time getting that damn pin out. I spent some time beating the crap out of it then had a better idea: I soaked the bolt in wd40 (or use some other kind of penetraing oil), and then put it in a vice. After that it came out pretty easily with a punch (took like 2 or 3 medium taps)

gunpartscorp.com is a major parts house that will have what you need. I think you have a burr on there somewhere, $40 to fix it is not that bad.

talked to these guys, really really nice. they decided my bolt had the worst lockup they've ever seen, and decided to use it in a video. he said he'll do the work for free in exchange for me letting them use the bolt for the vid and taking more time.

Usually "lockup" refers to bolt locking. Unless you mean "worst case of locked-up-ness", which would be something else entirely.

he is sayign that the firing pin, bolt, and extractor are currently one solid inseprable ipice, they are frozen together, they are going to try and salavage it.

i didnt even try to take it apart, but im sure i can.

the problem is the firing pin is stuck in the forward position. i'm sure i could get it out if i tried, but those guys at murray are gonna take care of it.
