Your obsession with posting the same repetitious crap over and over again is annoying. There's nothing to address because you are not actualy seeking discussion. It's irritating and rather childish (which is saying something in the context of the soap box). For the good of your cause and the people who may hold the same ideologies (but perhaps are more mature / capable / reasonable), please stop. 8/18/2006 5:09:35 PM |

I take the issues I care about and I push them. We are constantly bombarded by claims that liberals are the compassionate ones, that they have the answers for the evil right. Most of the liberals on here are childish college students who dont challenge their own beliefs. I'm trying to challenge them and hopefully get them to investigate the truth outside of the tv media and what their friends say. Liberals constantly blast us with false claims, like the oil war talk and the painting of america as the aggressors in the world. at home, they have us believe that its their policies, no matter how erroneous, that will save america, when in truth their socialist agenda could collapse our very well being. it makes me mad, so thats why i take the fight right to the libs. 8/18/2006 5:26:18 PM |

I'll bite
1) High taxes on the rich (good ole' boys). And exactly what type of minority start-up business is going to be harmed by strict regulations? A start-up car company? A start-up energy conglomerate?
You can debate the pros and cons of the policies, but there's no denying that they're just about as anti-"good ole' boy" as they come.
2) Ever heard of bussing? Or consider the fact that were it not for the government, ghetto families couldn't send their kids off to school at all? Or consider that any student in a failing school can be transferred to any other school in their system?
3) This completely misrepresents/misunderstands what affirmative action is. I'm not going to waste my time debating this point.
4) This completely ignores historical context. At this time there were many conservative segregationalist Democrats left in the South. They had very little in common with nat'l Democratic leadership (aka JFK and LBJ, who pushed this legislation through). Notice the author uses Democrats v. Republicans, instead of liberals v. conservatives (even though this poster is supposedly about "the left,").
Quote : | "The Original House Version:
* Southern Democrats: 7-87 (7%-93%) * Southern Republicans: 0-10 (0%-100%)
* Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%) * Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)
The Senate Version:
* Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%) * Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%) * Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%) * Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%)" |
5) The black family is destroyed? That's some mighty strong stereotyping, there. And how exactly did the left cause it, if "it" even exists?
I mean, certainly the economic condition blacks as a whole has nothing to do with centuries of slavery and another century of systematic oppression. No, it's welfare's fault.8/18/2006 5:33:43 PM |

amd I agree with Randy on this
well sadly...alot of black families destroyed themselves without help from anyone, I just feel that socialist policies are designed to help keep them down so that they can always get that "we promise to help you vote"...

...but that's just it.
You don't take the fight to anything. You post some stupid photo like the above, then wait for someone smarter, more skilled at debate, or more informed than you to come completely fuck up your argument. Then you disappear from the thread, only to reappear in another one, with another stupid fucking photo or cartoon. You might even have posted some question like "Why do liberals bash puppies with bricks and eat their brains?" Thing is, that is trolling.
If you'd ever make an intellectual point worth pursuing and demonstrate that you have the cajones to stake out a real, logical argument with factual premises, I'd debate you till T-dub ran out of bandwidth.

The 38 percent of Democrats that didn't vote for the Civil Rights Act were what were called "Dixiecrats".
Dixiecrats left the Democratic party because of the CRA, and became Republicans, which gave birth to the, "Southern Strategy". 8/18/2006 5:37:02 PM |

I propose better solutions for these problems, some of which ive stated in here various times, only to continually be labeled a "troll". Starting with the school issue, I have made it very clear that I am very much pro-school choice, doing away with the failed public school system. Liberals have voted against giving tax breaks to poor families so that they may attend better schools, thus keeping them in the ghetto. I wish i had a better understanding of why they want to continue to throw money at a failing system which still segregates by neighborhoods.
Lowering taxes has been proven time and time again to be the best solution to our nation's problems. By giving more of people's own money back to them instead of stealing and funding outrageous programs such as crazy sex studies, failing schools, and obscene art projects, we give more opportunity to people. Who are the ones who always want to give back? the strong conservatives, of course!

1. You yourself have bitched and moaned about handing out money to poor folks before, and now you're going to complain that we dont give them enough? You of all people should be one to claim "I dont want my tax dollars going to pay for people to go to more expensive private schools, they didnt help earn it, why should I pay?!"
2. Better secondary schools are not going to keep people in the ghetto, the attitude and approach they take toward their education can help in that outcome. If you dont try and dont care, you arent going to college, and you wont get a good job and get out of the hood; but if you apply yourself, and get good grades, you will get accepted to school and be given the oppurtunity to get a degree and earn money, therefore getting yourself out of the ghetto. Its not the school's fault that many poor children dont try harder; blame that on popular culture, and social engineering. Its been proven that whites and blacks will seperate themselves on their own, that segregates neighborhoods, and the fact that a good portion of the ghetto are crackheads or hustlers, and in gangs, plus popular culture such as the media or rap music don't help to dissuade people from this image; thats what the poor children are raised around, thats what they know, and they follow it, continuing the vicious cycle, thats what keeps families in the ghetto, not public school systems.8/18/2006 6:55:33 PM |

that is one of many problems with our current tax system. too many people associate "refund" with "income tax", and not "government taking an inordinate amount of money from me that I could put to much better use".
Your tax refund is as much or more influenced by how you have your withholdings set than by changes to the tax rate. I have mine set up so that I get basically no refund (last year, I got like a $15 federal refund, and owed about $5 to NC).
if you are getting a big refund, you're wasting money by giving Uncle an interest free loan, when instead, you could be earning a return on that money yourself.8/20/2006 11:18:28 AM |

youre thinking about it from the socialist perspective. this money, which was earned by the taxpayer, would be RETURNED. it is there money to begin with! you arent giving anything away when youre giving someone back what they earned!
