How good of quality do you want? Because I got an Ibanez started kit a few years back that came with a cheap electric and a small little amp. It isn't the best guitar, but if you haven't played before and aren't sure you're going to get into it, it's a good first.

i mean i don't really have a price in mind? i guess it just depends on the guitar (and amp)? do you have anything with a price in mind?

Peavey Triumph, 60W, 3 channels, all tube. plays ok, but could use a new set of tubes (easy to do).

also have a Mexican Standard Strat that I'm not really looking to sell, but I will for a decent price (wanna get a Tele with a B-bender)

only problem is that I live in the panhandle of FL (Pensacola). It's either a 10 hour drive, or you'd have to pay for shipping.

^ If you still have that amp next time I go to Panama City, I might be interested. How much do you want for it. I've been looking for an all tube amp.

You might as well just get like a Fender squire strat starter pack.... unless someone wants to hook you up with an old mexican strat / amp combo.

I think those starter packs are dirt cheap.

My Ibanex was a starter pack. I'm thinking $50 for the guitar, amp, cables, and soft guitar case. Also, I have a pedal that I would sell you seperately if you wanted. I forget what it is, I haven't played electric in so long. It does 50 or so effects I think. I also have another amp that didn't come in the starter pack that is much better. It is a fender (it isn't a tube though). Again, haven't played in so long, these have all been sitting in my parent's house, so I don't remember the model number or amperage of it. But I could find out if you are interested.

you don't have to get an exotic setup just to learn, but get something good enough that it doesn't discourage you and hinder your progress.

and remember, the amp is nearly as important as the guitar.
