The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has two Teaching Lab Technician workstudy positions available. The positions are 8 hours per week at $7 per hour.

Duties include maintaining appearance of computer labs, creating documentation, providing customer support, installing PCs, networking, and software installation. While no previous work experience is required, applicants with an intermediate knowledge of computers is preferred. Advanced computing skills are a plus.

This position requires a Work-Study appointment from Financial Aid (see http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/workstudy_jobs/workstudy_info.htm).

thats kinda crap pay for the work...but that seems to be standard for student pay. i guess if you don't have a car, you cant do much better.

but if you have a car, you can put those exact same skills to use and get paid alot more $$$.

That is true, however an on campus job is much more convenient. It is also an excellent entry level opportunity for experience, contacts, and future jobs for those interested in a career in IT. Many of our previous interns are working part time or full time on campus as a result of the experience and connections made as an intern.

yeah theyre pretty low stress jobs...work on your hw etc. i guess thats worth some reduction in pay

i disagree...i dont consider 7 dollars an hour to do some easy ass shit like he described in the first post as "crap"
