i suppose this is terrorism in a sense of the word. he did inflict terror upon a population. is there evidence that he committed this act of terrorism for any reason other than craziness? (like is he a part of some militant or terrorist organization?).

also Freemont (according to mapquest) is 38 miles from SF...doesnt sound much like an impulse, spur of the moment type of crime, to drive 38 miles, mow down 14 people, all in the proximity of a jewish community center

crazy doesn't necessarily mean it was a spur of the moment thing. i don't know much about this case. i'd be interested to see if he was connected to any larger terrorist organization, or if it's a similar case as the guy at unc last year, or if he's just crazy and just ran over whoever.

I think it's reasonable to look at people who come back from countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc with a bit more scrutiny than your average Joe.
