KBB is just a method to approximate a cars value, not what the car actually goes for. check cars.com to see what cars actually go for around the area.

if you're not interested, then leave your useless posts out.

um- because a 2001 (4 years newer than yours) GLX (every imaginable option) VR6 (Sporty stepup from the 4 cyl to a 6) is an asking price of $500 less than yours........

Think about it sweet cheeks- You are fuckin nuts... the sooner you realize that when selling a vehicle (or anything for that matter), that you can't just say "wow- i sure would like to have $8500 right now" and put that tag on your car- You need to KBB it or NADA it-

List options (power seats, windows, brakes, airbags, etc)
List Engine specs
blah blah blah- and btw- don;t lie in your post about how many owners!!!

your profile says you are 22yrs old... the car is a '97... youn want people to believe that you purchased this car from the dealership at 13yrs old-

GTFO

Ever thought the car wasnt mine, fag??? And the damn jetta is obviously some douchebag (such as yourself) who's just trying to get rid of the car asap. Good deals happen every day. That doesnt mean everyone needs to just dump off their car as soon as they put it on the market.

if "you" are the first owner then yes--- I do.... So I see whats happening.... You have a friend selling his car so you have decided to up the price tag some to a profit yourself???

AND GUESS WHAT...... THE PERSON WITH THE JETTA IS A REALISTIC INDIVIDUAL WHO ISN;T OUT TO ROB ANDYONE AND SELLING HIS CAR FOR THE WHAT IT IS WORTH

As I stated earlier, you can go to cars.com to check out what people are selling their cars for. I guess everyone selling a mustang on that site is out to "rob" people too then. Get a life man. Its a starting price that many people around the area are using, if it doesnt sell, then itll be dropped. Nice try tonight though, maybe you'll have better luck next time.

The only other 97 Mustang GT's being sold in the area are by DEALERS, and are listed for 500-1500 dollars LESS than yours.

You are not a damn dealer, you aren't offering any warranty or service with the car, making it worth far less.

NADA lists high retail at ~8300, so I don't see where 8500 is that far off. Sure it's high, but it gives more negotiation room. I like how everyone here thinks they are the used car pricing experts because they have access to the internet and can find a 2001 jetta for less money. I see fox body mustangs (older than this one) on craigslist, ebay, etc. going for around 10,000 (some for more than that).

Shit if you want the car, fine. If you don't, that's fine too, just let whoever decides to buy the car do their homework so they can decide if the price is fair or not. A buyer will pay what he/she thinks is fair, regardless of how much you bitch and moan about what you think the car is worth on TWW.

Nope sorry, it is more fun to make fun of people who grossly overestimate the value of things they are selling and never sell them.

Thanks Poe, you obviously understand the concept of starting at a point, then working it down if need be. Most likely this will drop.

Mildew, the pics will come when I get them. Also, your 2000 range bid is not only not taken seriously, but is a joke.

Well, the way I see it, those that post counter-claims such as better cars for less money available elsewhere are merely doing a service by helping those less experienced with car buying do their research.

Also, this could helpful to the seller, as well. By tracking down equivalent cars available for $8000 elsewhere, a noob buyer will feel safer since he knows non-noobs are helping him price shop, and therefore will be more likely to participate in the auction.

Of course, heckling is never helpful. Just post information and let people decide for themselves.

there is a huge difference in "high retail" value and the price an individual will actually get (private party value)... high retail is pretty much a fantasy price, even a dealer will never get that price for a car, it is only a starting point for a car in extremely perfect condition. for an individual to price a car above that figure will only cause potential buyers to not even bother contacting you about your car because they will think a good deal from you is impossible

if your not gonna buy the car, then shut up fat ass.

yes 8500 is a bit much but it has low miles and to a mustang enhthusiest looking he might get about 7500.

$3.6k, that UNC sticker seriously kills it.

The car's owner graduated from NCSU with two degrees (Chem and Bio), and is now getting a Dental Degree at Chapel Hell. I'd say that makes it ok.

^ u are thanking one of the most ignorant people on TWW who just said that if u are lucky and find a mustang enthusiast that you "MIGHT" get $1000 less than your asking price- he is not helping your case any-

^^^You shouldn;t be posting in a thread that is for an item you could never afford- fuckin homo! Ur still on TWW??? shouldn;t u be out racing your bad ass '89 (*sarcasm*)...... GTFO \\

^BTW: It is a nice looking car from the outside.... As some constructive advice (rather than being an asshole) I will suggest this: If you are going to put this on autotrader, craigslist, whatever u should really concider changing your asking price to at least $7800 (which is still HIGH). Problem that you are going to have is people's fisrt impression while searching is seeing "$8500" and "'97" in the same sentence- that is going to lead them away.

Whether u like KBB or not... As soon as someone finds a car they are interested in they are going to look up the KBB "expected resale price" and that is going to kill the sale as well...

good luck with it

It's whatevers clever buddy- Good luck selling your overpriced Mustang here or anywhere else.....

and for the record: U are a...

Jackass because you are still arguing via the internet in the same thread you are trying to sell something in-

An Idiot: Because you ar trying to convince individuals who have an entire internet of resources that this car is worth more than it is valued anywhere else on the web...

Robing people" because if u could sell this to someone for even $1000 less than your asking price it would be clearly unethical and would in fact be putting it in their ass.

it's whatever man- good luck.... I'm out of this shit- I will shoot you an offer in 2 months when u have dropped the price a couple grand
