I am running a 3.0 P4 processor in my server. I was just given some servers with dual 933 xeons in them. Should I switch my server to the 933 box or keep the P4? 9/5/2006 8:46:48 AM |

that is sort of a loaded question
I assume you mean P3 933MHz Xeon processors?
Also, determining what to run will largely depend on what you use the server for. I would imagine almost anything you are using would benefit more from the 3.0 P4 just based on processor alone, much less the newer equipment that accompanies it... 9/5/2006 9:40:02 AM |

They are dual P3 933MHz Xeons. The program I run Is very heavy on the P4 processor and causes the computer to have problems. The task manager shows the processor running between 85 and 90%. Will the 933 take some of the load off since it is dual? 9/5/2006 9:46:18 AM |

Would you rather have two quarters or one dollar? 9/5/2006 11:48:00 AM |

if this was a question of like 2 1.6ghz 400mhz fsb p4's and a 3ghz 533mhz p4, you might have a decision, but flops, memory bandwidth, etc, are going to be better on the p4 95-100% of the time 9/5/2006 4:04:51 PM |
