^^ getting, since April, one of the Shipp brothers, James Harding (future McD's AA, top 25 recruit), Eric Boateng (former McD's AA, Duke scholarship player), Jamelle McMillan (followed Herb from State to ASU), Derek Glasser (top-30 PG, stolen from USC) and Taylor Rhode ('08 recruit, future "Mr. Arizona Basketball") doesn't get you fired

I'd be dancing too if I was in the midst of landing one of the best recruiting classes in the country as well as a McDonald's All-American center.

Where is this best recruiting class in the country you speak of?

That wouldn't even be the a top 2 recruiting class in the ACC...

First of all, I said "one of the best" not the best.

Second, it most definitely is shaping up to be one of the best. So far, no one in the ACC has a better recruiting class. A 4* and 5* guard combo is HUGE. If you want to be technical you add in All-American (#3 Center in the country out of high school) Eric Boateng who is elgible the same year as this class and Sendek is sittin' pretty no matter what else he gets.

Boateng will really fulfill his potential when he becomes a wing player in Sendek's offense

Herb's got a good class coming in, especially for ASU.

But to say it's going to best even one of the best in the country, nah.

Boateng, although highly touted in high school, looked uninspired 2-3 minutes/game.

Wake, Georgia Tech, Duke, Maryland already have 2 4+ star recruits signed, and their best potential recruits yet to sign. And that's just in the ACC.

I liked Herb, and GG on the recruiting class and the fish dance, but this isn't going to be one of the best recruiting classes in the nation.

he's running a totally different offense than he did at State

more like the Kentucky/Miami (OH) offense. run and gun, baby.

because herb thought 5 consecutive tourny appearences was proof that the offense was "working"

and thought the players he recruited fit the system. new place with different players = new system to fit those players I suppose

fells has yet to get any significant playing time

in his limited time he's shown a good outside shot and the best athleticism of any of our players in recent years

^^You prove everyday that you do not belong in sports talk.

Princeton offense is for less athletic teams to limit possessions and slow the game down.

Three highly athletic players with bennerman, another athletetic player and bethel should not have been artificially slowing down the game.

their natural style of play did not fit the system..

You dont even watch our games. WE DONT RUN THE PRINCETON OFFENSE.

Quote :
""To say we run the 'Princeton offense' is like saying Maryland, Boston College, Tennessee all run the same offense because they run the 'Flex.' They all do, but completely different versions of it.

"We score in transition, score off the dribble, score in the low post. We run an offense with some Princeton concepts but it's uniquely N.C. State's offense.""

your right, we don't run it anymore

Herb isn't here.

But if you think we didn't run the princeton o then you are confused That was the majority offense

we did better when we had athletic players in the game who scrapped the offense and ran an upbeat offense (see wake forest games)

OMG NC STATE DOESN'T RUN A WEST COAST OFFENSE BECAUSE IT HAS SLIGHT VARIATIONS WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER WEST COAS OFFENSES

you call it rare?

Herb did it all the time

he chastized Scooter sherril for abandoning the offense and would yank him.

Why do you think Courtney didn't see much court time?

the claim was defense but that wasn't true

It was because he refused to not run the court.

People close to the program have said that the Princeton offense was already being phased out. You could see it in the players being brought in and in certain games. With players like Grant, Simmons, and Fells (plus the incomings like Chris Wright) we no longer needed to rely on pure scheme.
