ok so i have an onkyo surround sound system that i've had for almost 2 years. it's always worked really well and i've had no problems with it. well this semester i'm living in bragaw and it's a different story. it continues to cut off when it reaches a certain volume, usually around 30-32. i have it hooked up to my computer through a y-adapter and at first it was only cutting off when i listened to music through my computer. i plugged it in to a different outlet and it worked fine for about 3 weeks. yesterday, it started again, only this time it cuts off on every mode, video 1, video 2, CD (which is what i have my computer hooked to), DVD...everything. also, when it initially started cutting off at the beginning of the semester, it always cut off at the same volume, and only on CD. Now it will stay on for 5 mins and cut off if its over 25 volume. i've switched the outlets and tried everything i know to do...does anyone know what could be wrong or how to fix it? i was thinking it could be a speaker short circuited or maybe the speaker wire i used is bad...i have no clue. any suggestions????? thanks in advance

it sounds like it is fried. Usually this will happen when you are running something like 4 ohm speakers with a not so top of the line reciever that is only meant to handle an 8 ohm load
