It looks legit, and they even seem to offer genuine tech support forums and such. It'd hard to tell what their software offers that's any better or more compelling than that of anyone else. I have to say that their sales pitch doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me, but maybe that's just because I distrust most "free" things on the Internet.
What's wrong with ZoneAlarm at the moment, anyway? 9/18/2006 9:15:05 PM |

as long as you are not held responsible when they do not work, ie... its your job to make sure the network is secure, then they look fine.
but...

get the free antivirus software AVG from Grisoft, http://free.grisoft.com
and you dont need any software based personal firewall, the Windows builtin firewall is all you'll ever need. Anything more and you're just using a resource hog. I've seen Norton and McAfee's firewall products do more harm than good on peoples computers.
Just get some good antispyware software, and you'll be set. 9/18/2006 11:22:09 PM |

no, but most people on here aren't idiots and don't install spyware on their own PCs.
for antivirus, use kaspersky or if you want a free solution, AOL's active virus shield. for a ranking of anti-virus software: http://tech.cybernetnews.com/2006/09/04/and-the-best-antivirus-is/
and for the firewall, MiniMe_877 was dead on, as you probably have read in the 2 other threads about firewall software in the past 5-6 days. 9/19/2006 4:08:11 AM |
