check on your computer. Usually there's a sticker with a key. Call of microsoft and they'll run you through creating a new disk after verification of key.

What if you lost the CD and it didn't come with the computer?

I got it at a developer expo couple years ago and don't have the key on the computer or anything. Can anybody give me the right number to call or anything? Thanks.

This is why I plaster the sticker that comes with the CD on the box it's going in. If I trash the box, out comes the razor blade and the sticker stays with me.

if you have a valid key, then download a Windows 9 in 1 install disk

copy that image to a cd, boot to it. select the proper version which you have a key for and youre golden.

and bob, just go download a copy of xp off of the torrent network. that would be the easiest thing for you.

That's what I did to my former computer my parents crashed.

If you still can't verify your key online or over the phone (they could not/would not over the phone even though my key was valid and they wanted to charge me for customer service) just do all the updates on windows then try to validate your genuine key again.

I have copies of both Pro and Home, but I shan't be giving out my paid keys for them. Will loan a copy of the CD's, no problem, but the keys are up to you.
