I don't mind Robert Downey in this role. Hes a good actor. I think Joseph Fiennes (sp?) would be good too if he beefed up a little. 10/2/2006 3:27:49 PM |

It's only the first stage. He fights Mandarin in the movie and has the suit from the teaser.

Yeah, Iron Man's butler has talked about hanging out at a butler club with a butler named alfred. He’s certainly his own character in a lot of ways, but it doesn’t stop em from having fun with the similarities
Also with Jonah Jameson
Quote : | " Comparisons to Perry White Jameson has various similarities to the Superman mythos' Perry White (the editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet newspaper, and boss of Superman's alter ego, newspaper reporter Clark Kent). Jameson and White have been directly compared in several intercompany crossovers, including the second Superman/Spider-Man encounter published in 1981 and set in a universe where the DC and Marvel characters co-exist. Peter Parker briefly relocates to Metropolis and sells photographs to White, forming the opinion that White is just as tough as Jameson, but nicer. Clark Kent, meanwhile, has moved to New York and is warmly greeted by Jameson when Kent applies for a temporary stint at the Bugle. Jameson and White meet in the Marvel vs DC series (in which the two universes are initially separate but are briefly merged) after the mysterious new owner of the Planet fires White and replaces him with Jameson. In one frame, White and Jameson angrily confront the owner (Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin) and are drawn with near-identical clothing, wristwatches, hairstyles and cigars. At the end of the series, the status quo is restored. " | .
And superman and spiderman both have their mostly red & blue costumes. There are plenty of comparisons to be made between the main guys of each franchise.4/15/2007 8:47:45 AM |

Except Stark is infinity times smarter than Wayne
Wayne: "I have unlimited resources at my disposal, so I'm going to learn karate and fight crime!"
Stark: "I have unlimited resources at my disposal, so I'm going to build a kick-ass suit and blow stuff up while I fight crime!"4/16/2007 9:08:52 PM |

^Your point is not disputed. However, Wayne is infinity times smarter than Stark at detective work. Stark may be more scientifically sophisticated but Batman is more strategically scientific than Stark. 4/17/2007 12:31:37 AM |
AndyMac All American 31922 Posts user info edit post |
I'm not even talking about scientific and engineering smarts, I'm talking common sense of how to use resources. If Wayne lacks the ability to create such a suit himself, he certainly possesses the wealth to get one created.
Why can batman not be a great detective AND have a kick ass suit? 4/17/2007 12:46:51 AM |

Isn't that why Batman made the Batmobile? (Edit: Or had it made? I can't remember in the comics how the Batmobile actually came about and I'm too lazy to look it up).
