there's either a cable that's loose somehow, or you've damaged the connectors. unless you're comfortable disassembling your laptop, you should probably call the manufacturer's tech support line, and see if they'll repair it for you. if it's out of warranty, next step would be to take it to a local repair place or do it yourself.
keep in mind that if you try to fix it yourself, and it's under warranty, it might not be under warranty when you finish. 10/12/2006 1:22:01 AM |

of course, your warranty likely doesn't cover drop damage, unless you paid for an upgrade that does. 10/12/2006 1:26:52 AM |

what kind of pc do you have?
Normally the connectors are behind a small panel overlooking the keyboard. You can simply remove this panel with a knife or a small flat head screw driver. You will then find a cable (sometimes multi colored) running from the keyboard to the monitor. That probablay came loose during the impact. You might have to do a little un-screwing to be able to reach the end(s) of the cable.
Check the part near the monitor and the one near the pad. That should do it.
