The remake (2003) was awesome IMO. At least compared to the originals. I saw the first one, and it was pretty bad.... laughable, and not really scary at all. Then I saw the second one, which myself (and my wife) believe to be the worst movie we have ever seen. Then, I watched the Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (made in 1997) with Matthew McConaughey, which was OK, at the very least tolerable. The new one, released in 2003, was really good. But from what I've heard, they've taken another step back with this new one. Apparently, looking on the magical search engine that is Google, there was a 3rd one made between Part 2 and the Return, which was really bad too. 10/13/2006 1:03:10 AM |

^^but it sounds like you are going to see this anyway. Seriously. If you didn't like the first one, why see the second? If you thought the second was the worst movie ever made why did you follow it up with two more? I guess you are the kind of moviegoer that sees everything. 10/13/2006 7:20:01 AM |

Okay. So. To recap:
1. You thought the worst remake in the history of movies(I'm even including Chris Rock's Heaven Can Wait remake) was awesome.
2. You thought one of the greatest films(not just horror films, films) of all time was pretty bad and laughable.
3. You thought the one with Matthew McConaughey was OK.
I'm dumbfounded.10/13/2006 8:43:41 AM |

The remake in 2003 was pretty good. And for all you "oh my god...I can't believed they tried to remake a horror classic!!!!" faggots...it was pretty much accepted by the horror movie community who was ready to rip it a new one when it came out.
Plus, I probably could have rubbed one out to Jessica Biel about 10 times throughout the movie. I doubt I'll catch "The Beginning" in the theater...but only because there are a shitload of other good movies I want to see first. 10/13/2006 9:11:37 AM |

of course you won't like the movie if you have expectations of an oscar winning performance, it's a fucking horror movie[/rant]
1. the original was a good horror movie, great for its time 2. the remake a couple years was great, full of suspense and made you twinge in your seat 2. the latest one has a lot more gore (the painful kind as apposed to the bloody kind). it had plenty of scenes designed to make you jump (maybe too many, you started to expect them after a while). still a good movie, it's hard to make sequel. 10/13/2006 9:17:28 AM |
