I login fine.
I get a server list ~38 serves.
I connect to a server with good latency, and I load the map.
As soon as I hit join game and get into the game I loose my connection. It either tells me there is a problem with my connection, or it just plays a sound loop over and over.
I disconnect, and then I have to wait about 20 sec before the update server list works.
I have BF2142 unbocked with the security center.
Anyone having the same issues or knows of a fix? 10/16/2006 5:58:41 PM |

I had time warner with their wireless network and had the same exact problem. Turned out it was the netgear modem/wireless router. I returned that shit and got a regular modem and used my roommate's wireless router and now it works great! 10/16/2006 6:06:16 PM |

what's baffling is that companies think no one will notice or care.... i personally can't think of a worse turn-off 10/17/2006 1:18:35 PM |

"Advertising Data" ... that doesn't sound suspicious. I also like how they say NOTHING about their use of said "Advertising Data", just that they won't give the personal info they have to the advertiser ... good thing they left that backdoor in for themselves!

Does the demo have that?
And I am sure in no time people will figure a way to hack that out. 10/17/2006 5:36:11 PM |

^...there's this little thing called PunkBuster. not saying it's not possible, but it'll be interesting to see how they work around it. not that i'll be playing though.
and as far as i know, it's not in the demo.

the in game adds with report back in has existed for a LONG while its has been added via patch o other games as well, basically it downlaods a file with images to use as in game bilboards, posters, comercial items in stores, on drink machines, ect. It then records the number of seconds you saw the ad, how large the add was o n your screen, and what your veiwing angle was, and calls home when the game exits with a game id, level id, session id, and numeric gamer id, thus creating a persistant listing of what you have viewed.
http://nationalcheeseemporium.org/ has info on how it was done with swat 4, assuming they are still using the one company offering this service, you can simply add the following to hosts: 127.0.0.1 madserver.net 127.0.0.1 ad.madserver.net 127.0.0.1 imp.madserver.net 127.0.0.1 media.madserver.net The result is no more ads in game and no more info being sent in. 10/22/2006 8:14:00 AM |
