Model: HP PSC 1210 Problem: To scan a multiple-page document you have to go through the "Director" utitlity. The shortcut on my desktop and in the program file weren't working so I reinstalled the entire package. Now in place of "Director" there is "Photo and Imaging Director" in its place which directly opens the HP Gallery... where you can't do any of the document stuff from. Any suggestions? 10/27/2006 9:27:45 PM |

Apparently, it's stemming from IE7. They are working on an update that will fix the problem.
Until then you can launch it, press alt + space bar, click minimize twice, then right click on the tab in the taskbar and click restore... it opens in a larger window than usual but is still functional 10/27/2006 10:29:06 PM |

Off-topic: I haven't had a need to scan anything ... is there a way to do it WITHOUT installing HP's bloated software? 10/27/2006 10:55:29 PM |

photoshop will do it using windows imaging architecture (WIA) http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/stillimage/WIA-arch.mspx
or you can use windows "scanner and camera wizard", or various other programs that utilize WIA 10/28/2006 5:02:27 PM |
