Which is the better team and which will make the SuperBowl (or both or neither)?
I say Bears are the better team as long as Grossman doesn't turn the ball over 6 times (yet they still win that game). That defense is nasty. Colt's offense is pretty unstoppable but they haven't played in bad weather yet. Their defense is nothing to write home about either. As for Superbowl, I think the Colts make it, not the Bears. Colts get home advantage which matters most to them during the winter plus they have the most clutch kicker in the game. 10/29/2006 11:44:59 PM |

Who the fuck in the NFC is gonna stop the Bears? Especially at Soldier field since they are gonna have home-field advantage?
The Bears will have an easy path to the Superbowl. The Colts are much more beatable at home. You can out-physical the Colts and Peyton will crack again under pressure. There are several AFC teams which could dominate the Colts in the trenches, and in the playoffs that is much more important than during the regular season. 10/29/2006 11:52:26 PM |

I say both end up making it.
The Colts just beat the suppossedly class of the AFC in the Broncos and their stellar D. 10/29/2006 11:54:47 PM |

the bears really only have 5 possible losses on their schedule, and they'll probably lose only 3 or 4 of them. that puts them at 12-4 or 13-3, and thats gonna be #1 seed in the nfc, i dont see them losing a playoff game against atlanta, new orleans, st louis, new york, or minnesota at home (likely nfc playoff teams)
peyton sucks in january, and they're going to have to go against the chargers in the title game more than likely (if they even get that far). i dont see such an easy road for them as i do for da bears

I fear that the Patriots' cheapness is going to translate into a Peyton Manning Super Bowl. 10/29/2006 11:57:06 PM |

im obviously a giants fan
but we really seem to be getting our shit together in a major way at just the right time
im starting to feel more and more confident that we can take the bears out in a couple weeks given we dont get away from what makes us so good...the running game setting up the deep ball, and intense defensive pressure combined with stuffing the fuck out of the run
i dont see thomas jones going off on the giants at all...and that leaves it up to grossman to make mistakes
as far as anybody else in the nfc....i really dont see a challenger unless seattle wakes up in a major way10/30/2006 12:04:22 AM |

i mean any number of teams in hte nfc could suddenly "wake up" and start utilizing their talent
but who can say who will 10/30/2006 12:07:29 AM |

i can see the falcons, the giants, the rams, and maybe some more beating the bears on a good day. stephen davis fucked up the rams' entire day with one play.
the guy gets like 4 carries a game and he fumbles the game away

I think the good thing about the Bears was they got their wakeup game in a major way to stop being overconfident, but they still did not lose. The Colts looked really good today against Denver. If Indy goes to New England next Sunday and win, their traditional loss recently, I think they could make the Super Bowl. 10/30/2006 12:29:17 AM |

they beat the pats last year and still didnt make the super bowl, although they dont have "that idiot kicker" anymore either 10/30/2006 12:30:27 AM |

but their wakeup game was against the worst team in the league. if the worst team in the league can exploit the bears weaknesses, other teams sure as shit can, and you better believe a real team will hold onto a lead over the bears. 10/30/2006 12:31:54 AM |

People said the Bears were going to make it last year too. And then Steve Smith came in and wrecked their house.
The Bears at home aren't exactly a lock, the Panthers proved that and they weren't that great of a team last year(see: Seahawk ass whoopin' the next week).
Bears will win their division, have homefield advantage, and then Rex will cost them the game after they rest a few weeks. 10/30/2006 12:36:38 AM |

^That logic would work if you completely ignored the offseason.
The Bears have upgraded their secondary and are no longer susceptible to the deep ball.
Right now they are the team to beat. 10/30/2006 12:54:50 AM |

Hey....they figured out how to stop the run. I stand corrected.
I hope they do win. I don't hate Peyton Manning like most of the posters in here. And I think I'll quit watching the NFL if the Patriots win another Super Bowl. I fucking hate Tom Brady. 1/15/2007 12:04:58 PM |
