Talk to your advisor(s). There are an abundance of summer REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) available and cover various topics, one of them might be sports statistics. Especially talk to Dr. Gumpertz and ask if the Statistics club can bring in a guest speaker from industry who does sports statistics. Did I mention talk to your advisor?

talking about classes to your advisor is one thing, but if you show an interest in a particular area then he will be more likely/able to help you out. it will show that you actually have some ambitions and initiative. your advisor is there for more than just giving you your pin so you can sign up for classes. also check with the career center.

My apologies, didn't realize they switched up advisors in last two years ... congrats to Dr. Gumpertz on her promotion. Dr. Swallow is awesome, and if he doesn't know off-hand, probably knows somebody in the department who could help you out.

A job in sports statistics...sure! Here's mine: http://www4.ncsu.edu/~rdpasteu/football

A paying job in sports statistics is quite a different story. Good luck!

talk to Reiland. I remember he did some sports statistics presentations last year for the Stats Club so he could probably give you some good information.
