I wonder if Herb is taking measures to make sure the student like him more at ASU than they did there. I dont recall Herb sitting in the student section of any football games while he was here.

Sounds like he's trying to start off on the right foot and make himself out to be a fan-friendly coach, which is a good move for him.

I liked the guy and hope he does well at ASU, I just dont think he was the right fit here.

I see how testy you are about Sendek, and I laugh. You can't deny that's "acting like" he cares about "all games" at ASU, but seriously denied that UNC/Duke games should be considered "a big deal" here since he knew he wasn't gonna win 'em.

^ Notice "this season." I'll eventually want results, but I'd rather go 0-whatever THIS season than stay ranked #19 all season long just to bend right on over and take a big one in the 1st/2nd round of the Tourney.

That is such bullshit and I see it all the time. He doesn't belong here because people didn't think he got the team to the next level, period. Not because he didn't treat Duke/UNC different. I swear this is the same loser mentality that Red Sox fans had for so long. Oh well, we beat the Yankees head to head. It was a succesful year even though they are piling on the infield again.

I could give a fuck less if we beat UNC head to head as long as we fucking win something. To me it's a copout and what shit teams do to justify their losing seasons..

hard fought win (58-53). ice cold shooting in the first half, but finally got Pendergraf (former PAC10 Freshman of the Year) going in the 2nd half.

as soon as the young guys find their shot, they could really deadly

after reading about it, it sounded like a typical "Herb coached game"...lots of 3 point attempts, ice cold shooting in the 1st half, great FT shooting, great defense, not enough looks to the big men down low and the also got outrebounded.

i don't know whether to chalk it up to being the 1st game of the year or whether it's going to be a difficult season.

It is going to be a long year. They are picked to finish second to last. It's amazing the upswing in recruiting go to the Scout.com page and look at the past recruiting classes. 2 stars with a 3 sprinkled in every year or two. Then for 2007 there is a 5, a 4, and a 3 on top of Boetang coming in.

It's yet to be seen if he can COACH these guys but ASU is thrilled to have him regardless of any games this year.. sort of like the majority of State fans with Lowe even though we are likely to be horrid this year..

^^ Herb's teams, running Herb's offense, consistently dropped 80, 90 and at times 100 points in their early season games at NC State.
