So I'm in the market for a small size SUV. I'm looking at the Honda CRV and I've found one that I like.
Main question: Is this a girl's car? Will I just looking like an idiot driving this thing? 11/5/2006 7:39:10 PM |

I concur with the above statement. You better off with a sedan. 11/5/2006 7:42:20 PM |

Don't really want a car.
Looking for a SUV that gets around 22/27 mpg. What would you guys recommend? 11/5/2006 7:50:17 PM |

My cr-v gets 22-26 mpg. You will at least meet your mpg needs/wants. If youre not mature enough to make decisions for yourself, thats all the help i can offer you.
Hell if you took theduke866's advice on cars the s2k would look like an illegitimate fathers car.

^I'm not basing my opinion on anybody's opinion on here.
Just trying to get a feel for what people think. I found a 2006 4wd CR-V that I liked.
yeah I don't like those s2k. 11/5/2006 8:08:37 PM |

yeah, screw what "looks like a girls car". why even think like that?
its a car, its suppose to get you places without worries. everyone on here thinks a miata is a girls car, and guess what, people drive them. they are good cars also.
the new CRVs are real nice looking, and even the older ones are nice. so what that people think its a girls car, honda is known for a lot of good things when it comes to cars.
so instead of asking if its a girls car, maybe you can ask for some comparisons, or even go drive different cars in that range 11/5/2006 8:16:45 PM |

^ from a guy who tracks a "girl car"
Just kiddin man an integra has 3x the balls of a crv
seriously though... the liberty suggestion is the least girly of the bunch and w/o a lift they still look like girl cars.. and your lift will mess up your mpg.... soo.... get a car they drive better look better get better mileage and go faster. 11/5/2006 8:20:39 PM |

^^ brutal honesty. I like it. alot of good points
I like the CRV. Most likely I'll end up driving it. Sorta hoping this would bring some other options but I see that everyone is like "just get a car" which is something I do not want.
^^^Not a fan of jeep unless it's an old model with a 350 in it

what about a wagon? look for subaru's maybe?
even though the crv is pretty much a high riding civic, i can't stand the idea of people buying suv's for no good reason. 11/5/2006 9:48:46 PM |

I like higher riding height. I plan to get a jetski in a couple year which a CRV can pull. I want to be able to car a few people along with stuff in the back. I like the 4wd for not so good weather.
yeah it doesn't get the same gas milage as a Matrix or Vibe but I don't want to drive a station wagon 11/5/2006 10:38:15 PM |

either way, a car is low. I don't want low.
shit I guess I could get an old caprice and put 22's on it. Best of both worlds 11/5/2006 10:48:46 PM |

crv probably got just an inch or two more gorund clearence than most economy wagons and sedans.
if you haven't looked at a new or last years suzuki grand vitara, check it out. might still look girly, but it has some kick ass features, especially the premium version, and looks very very clean in and out. still looks girly just like any other small suv. so far reliability has been decent from what i understand. 11/5/2006 11:32:42 PM |

you must b e pretty insecure if the main question you ask yourself is "is this a girl car". Hell I'd love a miata but it seems like lots of people think they are "gay" 11/5/2006 11:32:42 PM |

I look at them as chick SUVs, but as long as you have 4WD AWD then they're somewhat respectable.
And I'd second a Legacy Outback turbo, hehe. More ground clearance than an Explorer, if I recall.11/5/2006 11:56:16 PM |

also consider the Rav4 and Highlander. Both get decent gas mileage. 11/6/2006 5:58:20 AM |

^^ yeah and they can tow like 3000 lbs or so...
they're also FUN TO DRIVE....
the only suvs that are fun to drive cost upwards of 50k unless you count the subaru forrester as an suv (which it says it is and if a jacked up honda civic can be then i suppose a jacked up imprezza should be considering the superior awd system.) 11/6/2006 7:05:16 AM |

^I was gonna mention the Subaru Forester...I can't help but like them. Something about the only SUV that Tarheel SCCA allows at AutoX is just cool.
CR-V's are fine too though. Honestly, who cares what others think? Someone will always dissaprove of what you drive.
You can go with the Element too if ya wanna go Fugly 11/6/2006 7:32:14 AM |

foresters are tough as hell and offroad pretty well. I work with a guy that has one and while I wouldnt buy his used because of the thrashing hes done with it, I would buy one like it. 11/7/2006 10:49:23 PM |
