I have an old laptop that is crazy slow. I want to use it for surfing the internet so it has to recognize the PCMCIA WiFi card and run a browser. Maybe a firewall and antivirus. I don't need to play minesweeper or run m$ word or ituna or aim or nero or other stuff.

Are there any small efficient operating systems I should try? Maybe some Linux distro?

THANKS!

Auditor will work for you as long as your wireless will work with it.

Worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions. The distro on that site doesn't seem any faster than windows, but it's nice to have a linux cd in case of hard drive problems, etc.
