try a creative zen product, they are very good and in some-most instances better than the ipod, also most of the time cheaper

^ & ^^ I thought the same thing when I was looking for an ipod... but why am I gonna watch videos on a 3.5" screen? Seemed kinda stupid to me. I ended up picking up a nano earlier this year because for the size and weight, nothing came close at the time (not sure what's out there now). If you want a new nano, I think apple will take off 10% or something like that for students and Best Buy will match that if you ask them.

i ain't complainin, i have a nano i jacked from my sister, but i dont watch movies on it, just use it for the trip home, if your going toward video wise not much beats an ipod

Nah they won't.

Their education prices are the same as their regular prices as far as iPods go right now. That's why the bookstore doesn't have discounts any more.

No retailer in their right mind would just give you a 10% discount on an apple product anyway. They pay the selling price for apple products then get 5% back down the road for selling said product (meaning they might just make cost on selling the damn things).

At least apple made all the iPods cheaper for this generation, so they should be more competitive with what's out there right now.
