Thank God that all the voting machines worked properly this year. They must have right? I mean, there are no cries for re-counts by the losers...no law suits....no allegation of voter fraud...its a good thing they worked out all those kinks that they had in 94, 96, 2000, 2002, and 2004....

Yeah, there were recounts, as well as allegations of voting machines messing up.

This sounds like yet-another-disingenious-Republican-talking-point (YADRTP).

maybe he's referring to the fact that there aren't hordes of democrats out protesting and claiming voter disenfranchisement and how odd that is because in the recent past, anytime the democrats lose, they claim that it is the Republicans holding them down and that there is no way their votes counted

sure there are stories there, but most of them deal with technical issues.

maybe this lends credence to disenfranchisement in the past since there is no one complaing, for the most part, and the dems won...or maybe dems can't ever accept defeat and so have to create some conspiracy theory to deal with loss when it occurs

I don't remember any stories of hordes of democrats out protesting. I remember issues with the Ohio presidential election, but I don't recall if there were actually mass protests.

Before that, it was the 2000 presidential election, which the Democrats had a right to protest.

maybe republicans aren't claiming this en masse because they know that if they do, they'd look like hypocrites.

not to mention the fact that there wouldn't be much of a point of democrats suing for voter fraud when they've won.

^Exactly. Why would Democrats sue for voter fraud when they totally won? It would be stupid to do that.

No worries. It's a popular tactic used by Democrats. Must be working for them!

I love seeing these threads pop up. You know, the ones that are basically word-for-word Republican talking points that the OP heard on Limbaugh or Hannity.

Just say what you mean to say and stop it with your lame fucking rhetoric. It's obvious the democrats aren't protesting because they won. So just say it.

The kind of rhetoric you're using (Hannity, Limbaugh, et al) puts a knot right in the stomach of the listener, whether they agree with you or not.

It sounded like to me that he was implying that the repubs didn't cry and call for lawsuits to try and show that they are better or something. Still pathetic either way.

Well, I hate to be seen supporting the republican talking point, but you guys love seeing me say something about it.

I do think its pretty strange that there were mass outbreaks of "voter disenfranchisement" based on race and income before, but when this election came through suddenly most everything went well. I mean you may have a point that they cleaned things up last go round, but more likely is that there were some problems still, but not one is making a big fuss about it. Perhaps every vote only counts when it is necessary to garner a victory. After that point, votes count, but really who gives a shit?

I think the OP should be a little more concerned with the rampant problems with electronic voting machines than with any issue either side might have made about it. It's pretty infuriating how shitty some of these systems are and how rich the companies are getting despite it, with mine and your tax dollars.

i think there's a middle ground somewhere in there, where democrats aren't necessarily the "sore-loserman" party, but they still whine a bit more vocally after they lose.
