To the statement that Hong Kong is number one in economic freedom:

The index of economic freedom does rate Hong Kong as number one, but the initial comment was in response to the statement:

When economic and political freedom are both measured, as well as the various other factors that make a country free and strong, as well as the best place to live, Hong Kong would place behind the United States, as well as many other nations. Take, for instance, The Economist's Worldwide Quality of Life Index, which takes into account factors such as health, GDP, political freedom, unemployment rates, and equality under the law, shows Hong Kong rating at #18, behind the US, among others.

So yes, as far as the Economic Freedom Index, Hong Kong is number one. However, if you're going to measure overall strength and freedom, you'll have to look further.
