It's only that the battery is dead on it as far as we can tell...it was purchased in 2002 and has had regular use up until earlier this year when the battery died.

Forgot to include: It has a modem, network port, usb ports, floppy drive, DVD/CDRW drive, 15" screen all included. It doesn't have an OS isntalled since we weren't able to get the battery life to hold out for that long.

do you not have an ac adapter or something? i'm curious why you had so much trouble with the battery when all you need is the ac adapter to power it. you could easily install an os and use it everyday with the ac adapter.

Yes, you can plug it into the power adapter without the battery in the laptop and it will work. We just basically wiped it and are trying to get rid of it now.

It has normal wear and tear for a 4 year old laptop.

I apologize for not responding the past months. Life has been happening. However, the laptop is still available.
