call up anybody who you are in good favor with in your department, career center, etc. etc.
i lost my ga position due to restructuring this semester and had a $2250 scholarship fall in my lap today from a simple email. even though this is a university, despite what some say there are lots of individuals that want to help you. just let them know your situation and see what the best plan of action is. 12/15/2006 3:55:48 AM |

You probably fall under that new rule that you must have a 2.0 before and beyond your junior year of you can NOT graduate, whatever the circumstance.
POI - If this is the case, I have to say I do not have any mercy. I hope you can find a way to make a paper say you are a graduate but seriously the rule is fair. The backbone of the policy is that since NC tax payers are paying more than half of your education the NC taxpayers (including me) believe you should not be getting an education on my dime if you cant make better than a 2.5. With the exception of a serious personal circumstance you have wasted a good scholarship that could have gone to someone else who struggles to pay for college but makes good grades (like myself) and wasted a minute amount of tax payer dollars.
Also, I would go to your advisor tomorrow...like 8:00 am tomorrow. If you are worried that you wont graduate nothing anyone on TWW, even if good advise is given, will be more useful than someone in your department assisting you.
Good luck...wear your knee pads. 12/15/2006 4:30:08 AM |

If you expect us to help you seriously, please make your posts readable. The fact you can't take 3-5 minutes to proofread your posts REALLY makes the rest of us question whether we should take 3-5 minutes to respond.
Start with these: http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/academic_affairs/academic_progress/REG02.05.3.php http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/academic_affairs/academic_progress/REG02.05.1.php http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/academic_affairs/enrollment/admissions/REG02.10.2.php
Then talk to several academic folks. wolfeee is a good start. Talk with R&R, Financial Aid, Dean's Office of your College, your academic advisor(s), etc. Get on the ball and start making some phone calls.12/15/2006 3:44:56 PM |

^^^Hey Stinger. How's your little girl? All ready for Santa?
^ Thanks, Perlith I couldn't do this without you.
The part we need is 3.3 and 3.3.1 of the last link he provided. It does not say anything in there, however, about graduation, at least on a cursory glance. Now I just need to compare it to your degree audit and if all is good to go and your gpas are good for graduation even if the semester gpa is below a 2.5, you may be good to graduate. I need to do so more checking and will be in touch by tomorrow. 12/15/2006 6:44:34 PM |
