one of the most amazing throws ever just happened
teel just completed prolly a 20 yard pass without looking, he'd been facemasked before he threw, and his helmet was def blocking his eyes 12/28/2006 9:34:02 PM |

^^^ Large public school, huge alumni base, large endowment, lots of $$$
I'm a Miami fan and I'd admit that. Plus Schiano even said Penn State was his "dream job" 12/29/2006 10:45:18 AM |

I WOULD TAKE THE PSU JOB OVER MIAMI ANY DAY...BUT I HAVE NO COACHING ABILITY WHAT SO EVER SO WHAT DO I KNOW 12/29/2006 11:12:07 AM |

I've heard that too about PSU but it comes down to a few things
How long Paterno stays around. How much $$$ Rutgers can put up. Where the Rutgers program is whe that time comes. If Schiano is going to get paid (all indications are Rutgers has the $$$ to pay him) and the program is a Top 10-15 program I could see him staying at Rutgers... I didn't think Petrino would still be at Louisville and there he is.. 12/29/2006 12:58:17 PM |

THE BIG EAST WILL GO UNDEFEATED IN BOWLS THIS YEAR....SO FAR THEY LOOK PRETTY IMPRESSIVE 12/29/2006 1:24:35 PM |

They need to do that and travel well. The bowl affiliations are piss poor right now. Rutgers should have been in the Car Care Bowl in Charlotte over Navy, but for fear of getting a team like USF (who doesn't travel well) again they made the Navy excpetion for this year only. What a fucking disaster BCU versus USF would have been! Though Navy hides what will be piss poor travelling by BCU fans though...
Next year the Big East will slide back into that one but likely the Big XII will get the Gator and the Big East will get the Sun (not a bad bowl in any case).
Honestly, the Big East is going to be pretty nasty next year. Rutgers, WVU, and Louisville are still going to be stacked and USF has a real chance of being ranked after a few weeks. That frosh QB Grothe is really good. They don't have any real bottom dwellers like UNC or Duke were this year in the ACC so the conference computer rankings will be high..

YEAH THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE SHOULD BE TOUGH NEXT YEAR...ITS A SHAME THAT THE ONLY PROGRAM THAT HAS A LEGITIMATE FOLLOWING IS WVU....YOU'RE RIGHT BECAUSE OF THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS GOING TO GET STUCK IN SHITTY BOWL CONTRACTS 12/29/2006 2:24:03 PM |

why does he always write in caps? I heard NAVY is bringing a SHITload of people to the car care bowl. Almost as many as we did. That is sad. 12/29/2006 2:27:38 PM |

i was AMAZED at the number of RVs they had when they played us 12/29/2006 2:30:10 PM |

^^ well they bring all the students to nearly every game so it makes sense they'd travel well. It certainly makes sense in that respect, but the fact is a team like Rutgers or WVU makes the game more appealing to sponsors and the TV audience. I mean for christs sake Rutgers beat Navy 34-0 this year and finished with a better record but since Navy had the exception they got the bid.
^^^ well they have travelling potential. WVU always travels well. Louisville took 40,000 to the damn Liberty Bowl a few years back, outtravelled VT last year in the Gator, and I've read they are taking up to 45-50,000 for the Orange this year (the game is close to sold out and we all know Wake doesn't travel). UConn is a wild card. They have a huge fanbase that travels very well for basketball. If the football program is succesful they will travel very well. Even Syracuse and Pitt will travel 'decently' for a big bowl game. Problem is USF and Cincy have next to NO fanbase since Ohio State, Miami, UF, and FSU draw all the USF alums away..
^^^^ nice recruiting class this year but I still don't think they'll be much more than a .500 team in '07. In 2 years with Lorenzen (the JUCO QB) and Brown upperclassman the offense will be good... The D has a ton of good recruits coming in too...

I'll be at the Orange Bowl. My parents are coming down too since they went to UofL. Should be fun.

On my flight to Miami from RDU two days ago, there were quite a few Wake Forest fans all decked out ridiculously in their ACC Champions gear. 12/31/2006 1:30:41 AM |
