You have to go to Page Hall to fill out a short form. Its pretty painless.

I switched majors twice and both times went to page hall. Some require you to get the advisor of the new major to sign off, like when I went EE to CE, and others you can just switch yourself if you have matriculated, like when I went from CE to ME .

CPE to EE I would imagine you can just do yourself at page hall.

There are real valid reasons for changing your major from CPE to EE, if you don't want to do both. Yes, at State these majors are virtually identical, it is not that way at all the schools in the US. There are many places where a CPE degree is much more CSC than EE. This leads to a major confusion in the work force and many places (such as Duke Energy) will not even look at a CPE for an EE job as a result.
