spring 07
18hrs

summer 07
8hrs internship
1hr health fitness

fall 07
18hrs - graduation

or...

spring 07
15hrs

summer 07
8hrs internship

fall 07
13hrs

spring 08
9hrs - graduation

Just having trouble deciding if I want to go ahead and get out this coming december, or take a lighter load and graduate in may '08. Any suggestions? And btw, yes I am a PRT - Sports Management major so I know it's not the toughest class load to begin with, but still... I would like some honest opinions, especially if any of you have any insight to how much time the final few PRT classes require (451, 454, 477).

I like the second choice better. It all depends on who's going to pay for it though.

Why do the 8 hours in the summer? If possible, shift it to the fall/spring and take full advantage of the internship. And in general, graduating sooner does nothing for you unless you have a STRONG STRONG desire to get done with college and into the workforce. Finish up in May is what I'd recommend.

Oh, and go talk to a few advisors about this as well. That's what they are for.

the internship is with usa baseball, and the best time for it is over the summer (that's when the bulk of their tournaments are held). i'm definitely leaning towards graduating in may '08 instead of december '07. i want to get done, but i think taking 18hrs in my final semester would kick my ass. thanks for the help.

^^ and parents have said they would rather me graduate early but that it was completely up to me and they would still fund it if i graduated in may.

interestingly enough, i am in the same boat.... i want to graduate in december as well.

i also want to go to law school. i think having 8 months off before i start law school will be good, but then again 3 months is a pretty long time also. but i am paying for it all, so getting out sooner is my best option. but my fall load is only 13 hours i think.

i say go for december

Employers also look at your final 4 semesters to get an idea of what type of job candidate you are. They may appreciate that fact you took a heavier coursework load your final semesters, but they really won't care if most of those grades are reflected in the "C" range.

Keep in mind there are plenty of 1-hour courses which can be audited and taken for enjoyment. Can always add those your final semesters as well.

If you need to maintain financial aid, you have to have at least 12 hours, even in your final semester. just something to keep in mind.

thanks for the help. i would actually need to take 19hours next fall to graduate and that shits just not going to happen (6 classes plus a hour health). talked with advisors today and im going to just take 15 this semester, 13 in the fall and 9 in the spring to graduate. plus, i am ready to get gone from school... but definitely not in a "hurry".

thanks yall
