I've been using my mobo for quite a while now, and it seems to work quite nicely. However, I recently noticed that the auto settings are running the memory at lower settings than it is rated for. Can I safely set the timings and voltage in the BIOS to the memory's rated settings?
BTW, I'm using a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum and Crucial memory, with an Antec 550W power supply. 1/11/2007 6:56:49 PM |

Im not quite sure on your question or your problem. Are you saying that your memory timings are running looser (numerically higher) than the sticks are rated? Or are you saying that the speed is set wrong, ie running at DDR333 instead of DDR400? Voltage is always something you can play with to create stable settings. 1/11/2007 7:21:06 PM |

well, for reference, the voltage is rated at 2.8, but the memory is being run at 2.6V. That's the main thing that I'm wondring about. But, the timings are numerically higher as well. 1/11/2007 7:33:06 PM |

Timings can be adjusted with no problems through the bios, as can voltage. Check what the default settings are on that RAM and then check what your mobo supports in both timings and max voltage. 1/11/2007 8:47:46 PM |
