Has anyone ever used this before?

How was audio/video quality?

What are the best aspects of the camcorder?

The worst?

Thanks.

It's a good camera for amatuers that aren't ready to make the jump into very expensive pro level gear. However, it still costs a decent amount and it's not for beginners. There are enough aftermarket accessories avaliable to give most other semi-pro camera a run for their money. There are a couple of places on the internet dedicated to this camera, what it can do, and what it is and is not good for. Seek them out.

Best aspect-- gotta be the interchangeable lens. If you're not into that-- and buying other lenses, you're probably better off with another camera. Canon, Sony, Panasonic make very good camcorders in this level.

Look at the Panasonic DVX-100B and do your research/comparisson with the XL-1 and XL-2. It all depends on you getting the right camera for YOUR needs, thats still in your budget. Another thing to consider-- if you drop a couple thousand on a camera, you better be using master/prof quality tapestock. Just another cost factor to consider.
