I searched google and the ms help, but whenever I click on a hyperlink in Office 2003 it gives me this message: "the operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" I am running XP home SP2 and have the newest edition of IE. If I open the same document with Open office, it works. Please help me, TIA 1/16/2007 9:58:31 PM |

Would it hurt just to keep using Open office? It really is just as good a program as MS office. Anyways, the situation described, I don't understand. Something funny with either MS office or windows.

When clicking on a hyperlink in an e-mail, I get this Message : "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I get this message every time that I attempt to use the hyperlink. I am the administrator on this stand alone computer. How do I deactivate this feature so that I activate hyperlinks ?
This is not an Outlook error. The most common cause is a corrupt registry key in Internet Explorer 6. The registry key found at HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command is either damaged or corrupt.
To fix it, try resetting Web settings in Internet Explorer. If this does not resolve the issue, you'll need to import the registry key from another computer. " |
