That when I select all and click properties, it adds up to like 4gb worth of files. I assume it's some sort of linking, but I can't figure out how it's being done to figure out which files are real and which aren't. 1/17/2007 9:47:30 PM |

That may or may not be the cd I have. So, how do they accomplish that? I assume there is one directory that has all the files common to all the distros, then in each different flavor, they have just a few files that are different. And I am sure this is all accomplished by some sort of file system/structure trickery. But I can't figure out how it is done. 1/19/2007 11:20:36 AM |

yeah, I also wanted to know how it was done. I think it just uses linking/toc edits to link to the replicated files in each install for every "instance" (version) of the disk. it would be slick to figure out how to do this though 1/19/2007 11:26:50 AM |

Clearly, if I were as so retarded to be holding a DVD thinking it was a CD, I wouldn't have a clue what "linking" was. Give me a break dude, even a retard would take then thing out to make sure it was indeed a CD and not a DVD.1/19/2007 12:23:06 PM |

linking is a general term and could still be used in an ignorant sense.
but yeah, we're getting offtopic. 1/19/2007 1:14:44 PM |
