Gateway Solo 9200 Laptops, Pentium 266mhz, 14.1 inch screen (1024*768), 384mb of ram, needs a new hard drive. Battery does not hold charge. define "needs a new hard drive"

does the laptop work as-is? i.e. will it run AIM and maybe a web browser? (cuz that's all i'd use it for)

also, does the laptop have an AC adapter? i don't care if the battery works


does the keyboard use USB?

the left arrow key just slipped a bit, you can reposition it, and the O key I did as a joke for someone once, it can be flipped around too. Each key is in its own little flex pocket, so they stay put unless you REALLY futz with em.

It means you'll need to get a new laptop hard drive for it. You can get one from synapse for probably 10-15 bucks, and then run the recovery/windows installer on it.

Yea the A/C adapter is pictured with it in the first picture, and it works fine as long as its plugged in.

It would probably be fine for aim and web, but it's not going to handle streaming video or Flash very well if at all.

^^^if your sure i can get a hard drive cheap (how big would one of those 10-15 dollar ones be?) i could go 20 right now if i can pick it from you somewhere on campus. kinda want something to have in my garage, basically just music storage and maybe repair manual CDs. i dont like taking my good laptop out there b/c of all the dust and moisture.

out of curiosity, does that thing have wireless?

clarification ... I assume you mean that laptop can run anything Win95 and up, but I'm unclear as to whether you have recovery CD's for it. I have a program that needs at least Win2000, so what I'm asking is do you have recovery CD(s) and if so what version of Windows is it
