Early review of the movie: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/31343
Quote : | "If nothing else, this movie will likely go down in history as one of the flat-out weirdest things ever released in theaters, which I think makes it a worthwhile endeavor. As far as staying true to the show, fans should have nothing to complain about. But for those unfamiliar with the show, be warned: You may find yourself walking out of the theater in disgust." |

I love the description FOX News gave of the show on their website "an animated comedy about three detectives in the shape of human-sized food products that live together in a rental house in New Jersey." Detectives? wtf, mate?

Apparently they've posted a number of endings. I saw one on facebook and a different one on the website.

Can't believe this thing is rated R. Cartoons generally try to hit PG13 to make the most money. Of course it this sells five tickets they've practically made the money back. 4/11/2007 12:29:07 AM |

Since neil peart was in this movie, does that mean that geddy lee was actually in that episode where shake made a new happy bithday song, along with zack wylde?

yeah the mastadon part was quite excellent, but the entire movie wasnt on par with the better aqua teens (though that isnt surprising considering it is more than 7 times as long as an episode).
still quite good if you are a fan. needed more carl though. 4/16/2007 10:22:27 PM |

Quote : | "The Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie was a huge let down. I’m pretty sure I have laughed more in the time span of one episode than the entire movie. I’m a big fan of the show, and I thought this movie was going to be awesome. The previews were great, the posters were great, the publicity was great, but the product is just lame. It has it’s moments but doesn’t compare to what everyone is going to be hoping for…. which is for it to be as good as the TV show atleast.
The intro to the film, which spoofs the old “dancing drink/snacks/concession dance” might have been the funniest part of the movie. Sure, it’s cool for them to try and explain the origin of Meatwad, Frylock, and Master Shake, but this story is lamer than NASCAR on a clear day. Sure, if you watch this movie “blitzed” you might think it’s “totally awesome…dude” but if you can appreciate some of the comedic genius from the show, you might be scratching your head thinking, “is the joke on us… the consumer” because you might feel a bit ripped off. I hate saying any unkind words about the Aqua Teen Hunger Force gang, but this movie wasn’t even worth my time. I’d rather playing BINGO with the Golden Girls than sit through this one again. Rent it if you are a fan of the show and must watch it… Skip it otherwise. " |

^ i'd see it for yourself and not base something like aqua teen on someone else's opinion. I know a lot of aqua teen fans and just about every one of them finds different things funny in pretty much every circumstance. If you like the show at all there will be at least one point in the hour and a half of the movie that will kill you laughing. 4/17/2007 1:46:52 AM |

I thought it was great. Seeing as this was done in kind of a season four-esque type of way (i.e. very "out there" but still hilarious in doing so) I hope that Matt and Dave return the show to this kind of humor, cause this past season has pretty much sucked. I wholeheartedly agree that the more you know and have seen aqua teen, the more you will appreciate it. I mean it had all the greats, not just the mooninites and Emory/Oglethorpe, but MC Pee Pants and Cybernetic Ghost. Brilliant! But much more than THAT, it had a story line, it had a plot, it explained much of the unanswered about the aqua teen, and it completely made sense (in a twisted, convuluted sort of way)!!! 4/18/2007 2:49:27 PM |

I was very disappointed with the fact that they recycled old characters so much and drove them into the ground. Yeah, the Mooninites were funny... for the first two episodes they were in. We've had 4 episodes of them now, so let's move on to something else. The best part of new ATHF episodes was always seeing the crazy new character's they'd create, but the movie really didn't have any new characters. There was Walter Melon, but he didn't do fuck all in the movie.
It was fun to watch, but didn't really make me laugh much because it was a lot more of the same, instead of presenting the new craziness that I was hoping for.
Also, not enough Carl. 4/18/2007 4:06:08 PM |

See I take the complete opposite stance. I enjoyed the movie so much just because they brought up all the old guys. I mean how else were you supposed to know that when meatwad was talking about video games, he was gonna mention Clam Digger: Head-to-Head as one of his favorite games? I think of it as a reward more than as a punishment.
By the way, I didn't stay til the end of the credits last time. This 2nd go around I just did, and it was well worth the extra 6 minutes of my time. 4/18/2007 5:26:19 PM |

yeah the gimics for each character are fine over a 12 min period, but drawn out over an hour and a half theres only so many smoke gags, stealing jokes, or the like before it gets old. that said, i prefer having the old chars and emory and oglethorp did fine in their roles. 4/18/2007 6:25:37 PM |
