College Basketball Career
Gannon played college basketball at North Carolina State University, where he was a member of Jim Valvano's national championship-winning team in 1983. During his illustrious four-year career, (1981-1985), he was a two-time Academic All-America and the school's all-time leading free throw shooter. In 1983, he was the #1 three-point shooter in the nation. 2/6/2007 12:04:02 AM |

He stripped the ball from Sampson as he was going up for a dunk in the ACC Championship game, then took the charge from Clyde Drexler in the NCAA Championship game.
"And it ran through my mind as he's coming at me, a week earlier he had taken off at the free throw line and jumped over Andre Turner. He jumped up, he spread his legs, he dunked, and he landed on the other side of the defender. And so all I did was say, 'You know what, Clyde? You may draw the foul, you may make the hoop, but you are not jumping over me and landing on the other side. I'm not gonna watch this until I'm eighty years old with my grandkids and have to watch you jump over me. So I just tackled him." 2/6/2007 1:23:28 AM |

He shot almost 60% from behind the arc that one year. It was sick. 2/6/2007 1:40:57 AM |

Quote : | "Whittenburg: "The ball got knocked away, but I reached out and grab it."
Gannon: "I was wide open. I'm still wide open, by the way. In fact, I'd have a better voice if he would have passed to me. I was screaming so loudly for the ball I ruined my voice."
Whittenburg: "Everybody is yelling that Terry is open on the right. Hell, I ain't passing to him. He's a sophomore and he might miss it. I'm not passing to him. So I take the shot." " |

This is a good time to point out that the production value on the Glass Slipper DVD during the last 44 seconds of the game is OUTSTANDING. 2/6/2007 2:57:04 AM |
