My fiance is from a foreign country and we were hoping to get her here on a green card (not citizenship) before we get married or anything. Does anyone know anything about getting green cards or renewable year-long Visa's? What are the reqs. etc.? 2/7/2007 12:17:08 PM |

no, it wasn't. i've seen a bunch of websites that claim to handle all the paperwork for you, but they charge 600-1k. Seems like I should be able to get the paperwork done myself with minimal government fees. 2/7/2007 2:08:32 PM |

The biggest annoyance with the whole process is that you have to get a fiance visa before you get the green card. During the visa's duration you have to get married. The thing is, the visa is only 3 months meaning you have to plan a wedding and get married and then file for the green card all within that 3 month period....-_- 2/13/2007 2:17:07 PM |

plan it, get the visa, have her come over, get married, dont get the visa and then start planning. (this is assuming you can get the visa on a predictable lead time and you are capable of planning things with remote management) 2/13/2007 2:26:23 PM |
