They are big and unhappy in my 55g tank. I would like to get rid of them and do not want to eat them myself. Name a price over 10$. PM or reply.

Red Bellied Pacus are native to Brazil and the Amazon River Basin, they are often eaten as they can get very large. They are the vegetarian equivilant to Piranha and are often used in TV (CSI Las Vegas) instead of piranha. If you have a large freshwater tank these guys will be pretty cool, they like to play "ag"and other stuff. I bought them for $10 each about 9 months ago and need to remove them to make room for some other fish that I have lined up. I can transport in the Raleigh Cary area but won't be available until tomorrow afternoon.

At the old Fish World location when I was a manager there we had an indoor pond that was about 2-3ft deep and we had a full size pacu in it, when he swam around his dorsal fin would stick out of the water. He also would let you "pet" him, he would come up to you and rotate on his side and sit there, freaked ppl out cause they thought he was a piranha.

They are a little over 6inches right now. I originally got them to keep my 7" Tiger Oscar company.

They would get bigger... The more Plants the better, as is the case with most fish.
