eh, don't get me wrong, i love that sound, but on my own personal daily driver, i'd rather keep my money and keep it quiet unless i'm getting horsepower out of the deal (on a car that it makes a difference on--not a pickup truck)

^i love a truck with a nice growl from the exhaust. Not that the Tundra wouldn't do that during full throttle though. It sounds nice anyways.

a buddy has an '06 tundra. he bought a borla univ. muffler and had henry's weld it and a tip on. shit sounds marvelous.

^ how much, i kinda want a borla for my envoy but the system is like $1100 which i aint paying. I don't want it that loud, just a tiny bit louder. Hope it might help my gas milage too.

While were on the subject, any aftermarket exaust anything isn't 50 state legal. There this is State "Commonwealth" called Virginia that has a law that makes even having a Midas Muffler illegal. It has a lot of gray it in, but the officer in my case was a dick and I got a ticket for mine just a checkpoint. $90, crazy. I had a Greddy Evo 2 with stock cat still in place. It wasn't rediciously loud especially at idle, and thats all he heard.[/ Virgina Rant] worthless state

^^^i think he paid around $175 for a universal borla from summit racing. he had henry's weld it on. i think they charged him around $40 to weld on the muffler and tip that they sell. not sure what they normally charge. not even sure if he got a discount or not but i do know he's done a lot of business with them.

I'm certain there's a variety of straight-thru, perf. core mufflers out there made of SS that cost much less than the borla. I understand it's a personal preference thing, i just cant live with it. even tho im no fan of blowmasters, they do have a line of stainless mufflers as well, in the 40 and 50 series designs

alright, so I am getting this exhaust installed the week after next, but I need someone to reccomend me a pair of mufflers to use. I want something that will perform halfway decent and sound good too, I also dont want to spend a ton on money on them. What are your ideas?

way back in the day when i was growing up there, i got 8 tickets at one time from a state trooper, no muffler, no cat, illegal tint, bumper height too high, fenders didnt cover tires, brush guard covered headlights, license plate lamp out, and 67 in a 55

you need to decide first if you want "true" duals (which would necessitate two mufflers) or the normal muffler shop deal of a single inlet/dual outlet muffler.

Our go-to muffla shop back home hated doing true duals on my bud's 01 F150, argued with him for a long time then finally did it. final result of that? - a $500 system that doesnt sound much different than their normal single-in/ dual-out system that goes for $275. (both using the original 40-series flowmasters)

IMHO, true duals are not worth it if you are just wanting some rumble. not worth it.

also, Borla mufflers are way over-rated, expensive, and many other brands offer respectable substitutes.

i'm tellin' you, get a borla!! that shit sounds good as fuck. he didn't do it for performance. he did it just for sound. he left the factory resonator to keep the sound low too. you can barely hear it inside the cab, but outside sounds unbelievable good.

Im still debating on getting an exhaust for my envoy, what should i get if i want just a little bit of rumble but can get some extra MPGs once i get my ecu flashed and an intake. I think im gonna go to bobs tomorrow. Where is henrys?

i have had work done at Bob's. stand up guys that will do whatever you want. They tucked my exhaust up nice and high, keeps it out of the rocks. I honestly wasn't sure if they could fit it all in, but they fit it and I'm happy.

^ Do they care if a vehicle doesn't have a cat? I'd like to get some new SS welded on, but pretty much all places won't work on your car if it isn't legal to begin with. I mean I could bolt it back on, but if they don't care I'd like to skip the hassle.

If you just want some rumble why waste your money on any dual exhaust? Fake duals are just for looks.

Just keep your single exhaust configuration, cut out the stock muffler and replace it with a louder one if all you want is sound.
