Michelle: You got it dude!
Audience: AWWWWWW!!!!!!
Michelle: I want my ouse-cweam!
Audience: AWWWWWW!!!!!!
Michelle: Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag and begin slitting throats!
Audience: AWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Sometimes the world looks perfect,
Nothin' to rearrange.
Sometimes you just
Get a feelin' like you need some kind of change.

No matter what the odds are this time,
Nothing's gonna stand in my way.
This flame in my heart,
and a long lost friend,
Gives every dark street a light at the end!

Standin' tall
On the wings of my dream!

Rise and fall
On the wings of my dream!

Rain and thunder, wind and haze
I'm bound for better days!
It's my life,
It's my dream,
Nothin's gonna stop me now.

It’s a rare condition, this day and age,
To read any good news on the newspaper page.
Love and tradition of the grand design,
Some people say it’s even harder to find.
Well then there must be some magic clue
Inside these tearful walls

Cause all I see is a tower of dreams
Real love burstin’ out of every seam.
As days go by, we’re gonna fill our house with happiness.
The moon may cry,
We’re gonna smother the blues with tenderness.

When days go by, there’s room for you, room for me,
For gentle hearts an opportunity.
As days go by, It’s the bigger love of the family.

If the species is plentiful with no fear of endangering them then it seems like it would be like any other fishing. But then again dolphins are quite plentiful and can not be fished. Maybe that is just the US. The problem with whaling before was that stupid ass humans nearly drove certain speices to extinction.

^ Exactly. There are tough restrictions on whaling. What we really need to focus on is the every-day fish; they're the ones who's population is in danger because of fishing.

^^ Are you still working on the assumption that sarcasm is distinguishable from stupidity on the internets?

do you mean "fishing" or commercial fishing

recreational fishing in the US is not whats destroying the fish population

well, there are "poacher" fisherman that keep undersize fish and keep more than their limits, which really pisses me off

but last year over 100 red drum washed up on core banks that had been caught in nets and just thrown out into the water as bycatch or what not

No, I'm definitely talking about commercial fishermen.

They're going to SOL in a couple decades if they don't collectively act more responsibly.

yeah

plus the EU doesn't want to agree to the same regulations we put on vessels here, thus nullifying some of the conservation rules that we need

which has really fucked up the industry when it comes to pelagics

no its just you and a few other fools

i know everything is easier for you when you perceive yourself to be a part of the majority for whatever particular issue since other people can fight your battles for you

but its just you and a few other morons that didnt get the context

i guess "geniuses" like you and OEPII1 couldnt quite pick up on SkankinMonky's sarcasm or Mr. Joshua's sarcasm either?

i too would probably look for someone else to blame instead of taking personal responsibility if i had as much difficulty as you did at understanding context

so did you have trouble understanding Skankin and Joshua's sarcasm? did you think they were being serious and dumb?

I thought I would let this thread run some of its course before I chimed in. Do we really need commercial whaling? Other than providing food for a very small niche market, it doesn't seem to be very worthwhile in relation to it's impact on the ecosystem, especially since the species have been whaled nearly to extinction. I think that we can continue allow indigenous tribes to make catches for subsistence, but I just don't see the meaning in it anymore for commercial purposes.

i'm for limiting commercial catch limits for any endangered species but its different when (like you mentioned) its tribes that use the whale for lots of practical things for their lives, like food, clothes, heating oil, etc

course in another sense, commercial fishers make their living and provide for their families off of commercial fishing...i'm not too familiar with whaling and i know north carolina commercial fishermen dont really fish for whales, but you've gotta find the fine line between preserving the ecosystem and allowing people to provide for their families
