Mr. The cheat needs a new home. My future apt complex doesn't allow snakes and I can't give him the time he allows.

He's just under two years old, about 3 feet long, eats well, never bites, and is a bit shy. He is in a 30 gal long tank, screen lid with clamps, and heating pad under his rock.. I have a gallon bag of small rats in the freezer and he eats one a week, so there is about... 6 or 7 months of food there.

I have about 1/2 a bag of bedding that you can have with him too.

I got the tank off TWW for 20$, just bought the screen top not too long ago - 20$, food - 20$ish, hidey rock and heating pad would run - 20$ish, and of course Mr. the cheat - ? $ Not a baby snake and not full grown so I wouldn't know how much a snake this size is worth. pfft? 20$ maybe?

I'd like to get about 60$ for everything. Maybe one of you other snake enthusiasts can give him a better home.

Pictures in my gallery.

^Corn snakes usually pick a direction and go. Get a python if you want a lazy snake.

But yeah, you can hold him and guide where he goes. Most of the time he will sit relatively still, and at others he demands to go exploring.

^^ GTFO.

^^ we think "he" is male from looking at his tail, but I wouldn't put money on it.

The tank is 30gal long. 35 long? I'm not sure. But its huge.

I bought him as a baby snake for 25$ and with such a healthy and prosperous life he has lead I'm sure his value has appriciated. How about 35$?

he might be appreciated a bit for age, but unless its a Burmese or boa, most pet snakes do not appreciate with size. the only reason the burmese and boa can be worth more is because some people just want "a big snake" because its cool, when in fact if you bought a hatchling it would attach to you much better. of course, things are worth what people will pay for them.

snakes also tend to live decently lengthly live in captivity, and the younger you get em, the longer you'll have em, so usually the younger the better. many snakes may take a while to get used to new owners, and some cornsnakes don't like being fed from a different hand, especially if they don't normally strike their food. but it seems Mr. The cheat is a good eater.

to put things in perspective, you can find a baby normal corn (no fancy colors) at the reptile and amphibian show at dorton arena for $20, with a small entrance fee to see all the vendors. for as cheap as you can buy frozen mice there, you save more than the entrance fee.

but like i said about age, imagine all the money you saved from not feeding him the past two years! considering Mr. The cheat can live to 20 years old, just the fact that he's been fed and cared for should appreciate him somewhat.

60 for the setup is a great deal, though i would suggest ditching the bedding (snakes can get sick if they eat too much while trying to eat their rodents) and putting in a bigger hide. cornsnakes are nocturnal, and im sure mr the cheat would enjoy a bigger house to sleep in during the day

as far as feeding him from a different hand, I don't think that would be a problem.

I always take him out and feed him on the floor on a paper towel. I never touch the mice as I really don't want my hands smelling like tastey mice.

Yeah, eating bedding is not good for snakes so I always feed him on a flat paper towel.

^ i disagree 100%...i currently have 7 corns and a 17-foot albino burmese...i've owned/fostered iguanas, beardies, balls, and red-tail columbians (or whatever you want to call them)

the corns smell the least of them all, by a HUGE margin...even in terms of musk and waste

I have never even been aware of this little guy's smell.

I can only smell anything when I'm right over the cage and I haven't cleaned it in a few weeks. Shame on me, I know.
