I live in a 1 bedroom place just up the street from the CV Teeter. I like it...cheap, convenient to campus and restaurants/groceries, quiet. I have a washer/dryer, too. Only major drawback is no dishwasher and very little countertop space in the kitchen.

If you find Ivy Commons, then do it. Its quiet here and the Avent Ferry and Fraternity Court Buses run every 12 min.

Thanks

will Ivy Commons do 5 mth leases if you pay up front? Like a lease from start of the semester to the end? I'd be willing to fork out the rent money for 5 mths up front if that would be possible, but didnt know if they went under 6 mths, or even 12 mths. I own a home back in my hometown and like being there in the summer, and I really dont like paying for summer rent when I wont be in Raleigh

I'm pretty sure there's a waiting list here at Ivy Commons.

I'm in a 2br/2ba and am trying not to leave here because A: it kicks ass and 2: Moving my stuff out of this apartment would be a PITA.

Does anyone live/have opinions on Parkwood Village and Westgrove Tower?

I've heard Westgrove is a little sketch. But that's a third-hand report (co-worker of a friend lived there).

lake johnson mews...it's not as busy as other places close to campus...i've been at the mews for 5 years and would stay longer if i still wanted to rent and didn't buy a house.

I lived at Dominion Walnut Creek in a one bedroom 2 years ago. When i was living there they put new appliances and new carpet in. Lots of living space, screened porches and not too expensive. They were always very nice to me there too.

what about the places off Chamberlain (I believe). The two story white apartments on the campus side of Clark. worth looking in to?

my old roommate lives in westgrove towers and likes it. when she first went to look at apartments, she was looking at a studio. well when she went to move in, the people that were supposed to move out decided not to, so the managers gave her a one bedroom for the same price as the studio, for however long she plans to live there.

the one bedroom she moved into is a nice apartment, but it's small. it has a nice walk in closet, and is furnished (which would be a big plus for me).

When is the best time to start looking for an apartment for August? I'd like a 1 br or studio, hence bumping this one of ten billion apartment threads.
