thats what happens when you don't have a crew that can setup all your shots for you and make everything go perfect each time. if they both got stranded together les would eat bear and make his skin into a hot air balloon to fly out on 3/12/2007 10:40:09 PM |

oh, and what kind of survival expert brings a lighter with them?
- oh yeah, he just happened to become a 'survivor expert' when his music career failed... um yeah Bear was in the special forces. i dont even see how this is an argument.

I don't think bear is necessarily better. If it comes to the point where you have to drink elephant dung, or bite in to a live salmon, you've failed in your survival techniques, those are acts of desperation. 3/13/2007 11:54:59 PM |

Yeah, we’ve been running through them. Started with the one on Netflix (6th season I think?), then went back and started from season one. Just finished 3 tonight. Unfortunately so far it seems we started with the best one. The others, while still ok, haven’t enjoyed as much. 7/5/2020 9:35:58 PM |

I've binged Seasons 1,2 and 6 of Alone. Really like the show and its concept. The teams on season 3 doesnt appeal to me as much.
6 has been my favorite season so far...
SPOILER _________
Really thought Winonya was going to win 6 and be the first woman winner...they have it a lot tougher than the men in regards to BMI and other health related issues

It kinda surprises me how basically everyone on the show starves. none of these people would survive long term, and they're highly skilled hunters and survivalists.
It really shows how necessary it is for humans to cooperate and have division of labor, and how it requires some type of farming to provide us with enough calories to thrive. You can see too how an anatomically modern human would not be able to utilize their full cognitive capabilities without these luxuries. 7/8/2020 4:09:45 PM |

^well I think on something like "Alone" they have to generally stay in one area. Most people would just continue to move if they ran out of food sources. In season 6 several of them complained about running out of stuff to catch in their area. Plus the guy who won said they drop you off with 100+lbs of camera gear, so its not easy to travel much. That guy for sure could have continued for a long time. 7/8/2020 10:44:46 PM |

If you ever watch Naked and Afraid, it is the exact same on that, especially on the XL version. The XL version is usually the more successful of the people on the regular show and they barely squeeze by 40 days eating things like snails and the occasional fish or snake that they catch. Even that is people who have studied wilderness survival for years.7/9/2020 10:29:16 AM |

I totally thought Donny was going to dominate. The guy had a completely insulated bear den complete with a firepit only to cook a muskrat and give himself dysentary 12 hours later. 7/14/2020 4:09:42 PM |
