I did a quick search of Old School and I didn't see any threads on this.
I've got to take the GRE's pretty soon and I don't know shit about it. I've been thumbing around in order to find the cost, and I can't find the answer anywhere. How much did it cost, and how was your experience with taking this test? 3/17/2007 12:54:04 AM |

$130 for the GRE general
http://www.ets.org/gre
Click "test details" under "test takers" Click tab marked "about the test" Click sub-tab marked "fees"
PS I'm jealous, the GMAT is $250 3/17/2007 7:47:01 AM |

JESUS IS THIS FOR REAL?
i don't think you deserve to take this test.
if you couldn't randomly try http://www.gre.com or http://www.gre.net or http://www.gre.org yourself, you are totally incredible.

O RLY?
YOU THINK THE TEST MAKERS PUBLISH THEIR INFO ON TWW?
also, is your GOOGLE BRAIN broken?
as for experience taking the GRE, how about:
http://brentroad.com/message_search.aspx?type=topic&searchstring=gre
???
You should get a medal.
P.S. It would be interesting to see how many of the bastards who were chastising me for making my apartment thread would come here and lambast this thread. We all know most of them are hypocrites and trolls.

Thanks for the post chocoholic.
0EPII1, what a fucking tool. This is exactly the reason why you weren't originally given access to Old School. GTFO if you are just going to be a god damn troll. 3/17/2007 10:44:13 AM |

If you can't figure out the two remaining "questions" that you have about what I have asked, I have a great deal of pity for you. 3/17/2007 10:57:47 AM |

I took it at ecu because they had a shitload more dates open. The math portion is the same as the SAT so just do a basic review of those materials. The English part is considerably harder, but the essays were easy. A good (grad school worthy) score is possible with no/little studying, and an awesome score is possible with dedicated studying. 3/17/2007 1:03:35 PM |

I think I'm gonna pick up a manual in order to help familiarize myself with the format. This shouldn't be that big of a deal. 3/17/2007 10:49:44 PM |

dude, i gotta side with 0EPII1 on this...type gre into a search, 1st result, three clicks into the page and you get the price
it's a standardized test - like the SAT only harder...get a kaplan book, study your ass off, and that's about it. if you're just dense, spring for the course, but those are about 2 large
i took the gre in college and scored really well with no studying....5 years later I took the gmat, studied my ass off and placed in the 95th percentile, including a perfect score on verbal...improved my score 100 points over my practice test (i.e. hadn't done shit for math in 5 years) after a full week of nothing but doing exercises on the cde-rom from the book
now if you need to take a specific test, you're fucked...those are hard as piss... 3/18/2007 3:12:03 AM |

I do private tutoring if anyone's interested. My rates are much more affordable than Kaplan's. Their GMAT prep rates break down to about $60/hour for classroom and $140/hour for private lessons. 3/18/2007 10:36:49 AM |
